This week marked the Spring 2012 Haute Couture fashion shows in Paris. Fashion’s big wigs (Versace, Chanel, Valentino, Christian Dior, etc.) showed off their spectacular designs throughout the week, displaying many Oscar-worthy dress contenders.
Chanel’s look for 2012 Couture was inspired by 1950s Pan-Am-esque flight attendants, complete with runway modeled after an airplane.
Futuristic and reptilian-inspired
Jessica Chastain was given the news about her Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress while waiting for the show to start. I am assuming she was there to scout Oscar dresses. If she wears this look, I will be. so. happy.
Versace = sexy. It’s just the known thing. Futuristic, as well, with lots of metal detailing. Love, love this orange dress. Work it, girls.
Elie Saab makes beautiful dresses. He stays true to his light pastel colors, similar to last couture show.
Like Jessica, The Artist‘s Berenice Bejo was also out scouting for Oscar dresses (she too has a nomination for Best Supporting Actress) at Elie Saab’s show. Bejo seems to like jewel tones, so I would love to see her in this Fall 2011 dress – she doesn’t seem like a pastel kind of girl.
